A new series... Direction >>> Nordkapp
I've recovered some negatives from 10 years ago and scaned them in a photo lab. Don't think to make a travelogue because I know only aproximative where I was driving ;))
Just for information: despite some little troubles... and also some majour troubles with my car we returned home with it ;))

Pictures were taken with borrowed P&S camera Olympus Myu on just normal 200 ISO Fuji film.

About the photo: nothing special... I've just captured a moment of total panic ;))

Connected to your note I can sense the excitement! While there's nothing special in the image itself it works well as a teaser your upcoming photos. And has a clever title. Besides this gives me a reason to greet you Happy New Year!

Funny title Tomi. I can just imagine the trouble you would be in if you took this on green. It looks a dismal sort of day for August; just as well you were in a car. Good quality scan.

leggendo la nota e guardando la foto quasi contemporaneamente, mi è venuto (volevo usare una parola meno convenzionale) da ridere perchè mi sono ricardato di tante situazioni analoghe in posti sconosciuti. A parte il "total panic", di solito c'è anche l'incazzatura totale quando ti rendi conto che poi stai andando nella direzione sbagliata e ti tocca tornare dov'eri prima. L'ultima volta mi è successo a Salisburgo perchè dovevo uscire su una statale che non riuscivo proprio a prendere venendo fuori dalla città. Mi ritrovavo sempre all'imbocattura di qualche autostrada. Metteci poi che era già anche buio completo e pioveva a dirotto. Certe volte un navigatore satellitare ci vorrebbe proprio, solo che per tutto l'anno guido in paesi per i quali non esiste alcuna mappatura affidabile e mi sarebbe inutile al momento. Stammi bene e, tranquillo, io l'ultimo dell'anno l'ho trascorso con i miei suoceri, a casa come te.

Hej Tomi,
A very nice shot from the car. I like the urban mood of the picture. The skyline of Hamburg in the background works nice too. I really like this capture, thanks for sharing!

I don't really know why, but I like this.
As you say, it's not really "of" much, just the view through your car windscreen. But the blurred car bonnet frames the scene well, and I like the slightly depressing atmosphere created by the wet streets, dull light, and featureless grey sky. Funny how these things, that normally would be the enemy of succesful photography, have worked in your favour here.

Hi Tomi - yes, it's good that the lights are red, if they went green while you had a camera in hand it might be difficult!
The shot may seem like nothing special but when I look into more I can sense the urban atmosphere of this place, a busy city.

Hi Tomi, the pull from your archives brings us a gritty urban capture. I like the feeling of space and the strong lines here. The scanning is well done. And your note breathes xtra life into the scene ;-) Looking forward to more of your Nordkapp trip!

Hello Tomi.
It is an interesting scene with all of the red lights glowing. I like the natural color that the film provides here...warm and classic. Taken through a windshield (?), you've got some very good results here. I really enjoy the simplicity. We forget the beauty in the everyday.
