Photographer's Note
Christianity is a big part of Korean society, thus there are tons of churches dotted across the peninsula. Even in the most remote towns you will find a building with a cross on it.
The one in this photo really caught my eye with it's unique architecture, unlike most churches you see in Korea. The palm trees and fauna surrounding it is native to Jeju island so when you put these two together it almost looks like a scene from Mexico? Sure doesn't look 'Korean' to me... But if you look closely at the sign you'll see that it is indeed in Korea.

Great shot Bennet;
Your B&W (hint of sepia?) levels are great. Good sharpness as well. You are 100% right about looking like Mexico. I found myself looking at the location at top before I had read your note.
Nicely spotted Bennett!

Hi, Bennet, I wouldn´t say Mexico, because I do not know it but for sure it was a suprise to me coz I thought it was a Brazilian church in one of our villages by the sea.
Excellent post´-processing. The image is neat and the frame correct. The korean letters do the trick here.
Congratulations. Very much TE spirit.

That is indeed strange. Id have said Africa but Mexico works too. Good to see you post something Bennet, you havent been around much. The b/w is skillfully done.
P.S. You going to the Daegu photo Biennale in October? I proposed that to be the meeting place for all the TE members in Korea. Its perfect as Daegu is right in the middle between you Busan/Ulsan guys and us Seoul guys.

BHo...I've been to both Mexico and Jejudo in the last 6 months and this picture is freaking me out. Imagine, Mexico stealing this beautiful architecture from the Koreans....

Hi Bennet, the Philippines now enjoy a growing Korean community who mainly transient. They come to study english. I like the overall composition of your photo and how the church is situated a tad off center. Yes, the place could even look as if situated in the Cordilleras, sans the signage.
mabuhay!

Bennett,
A great shot and you're right could definitely be somewhere in Latin America. IT's not your typical Korean church. Lovely tones on the church and a great black and white conversion.
Cheers

Hey Bennett,
The surrounding kinda looks 'tropical'or somewhere in Latin America. The sepia tone makes it more enchanting and the church somehow looks like a hidden reclused place due to the architectural character making it unlikely korean. The whole effect looks vintage (looking at first glance - the jeep I though was like the ones used during the WW-II) and old mission type of photos way back. Maybe in Havanna, Cuba!
Cheers!

Excellent black and white conversion you have here Bennett. Ken Rockwell is indeed a most excellent teacher!
I like the addition of the jeep as it adds another motion to the idea of 'where am I?' Without it, it would have looked drab.
