Various pictures from the five buildings of this museum. They main body of which is housed in the oldest railway station in the U.K. (world?).

The gates of Rome are many and varied.
Some are little altered, some are gone.
Some are called gates today but were once merely 'posterns'. All are a fascinating architectural monument to that city. I hope you will join me in looking at some of them. They have been photographed over many visits to the city.

There are of course many Palio's all over Italy.
Perhaps Sienna being the best known. But for me the one held in Asti, on the third Sunday of every September is the best. There are three heats, with the first three horses from each heat going into the Grand Final. Our first try at the Palio was some 10-years ago, where torrential rain forced away in the middle of the 3rd heat. These pictures from 2007, where taken on a 'very' gray day. And we supported the winning horse.
