Photographer's Note
Tannoura Dance is one of the most beautiful Sufi Art ever. Sufism is a spiritual trend of religion practice famous in Egypt although not very spread.
The dancers wear those really big round skirts and cloth and spin around themselves following the music and chants that are mostly religious. The skirts are colorful as you can see in the pic thus with the very fast spinning give a beautiful combination of colors. My motordrive couldn't keep up!!!
I was so taken away by them that i took around 650 pictures in a show that lasted less than 90 minutes!!
i promise more will come in the following days :)

Hello, Mohamed -
You have a bit of a focus problem, I think, since the whole image looks soft. I suspect you weren't allowed to use flash, since it can distract the dancers and cause them to fall. Can you up the ISO? You are using a shallow f-stop, but making it smaller also means slowing the shutter, and you get blur that way.
I do like the composition, with the double color circle and the deep shadows. Have you considered cropping this to vertical?

Hi Mohamed!
Your series of photos on tannoura dance reminded me of
some great time I had in Egypt. I especially remember
one dancer that was extremely good and I couldn't keep
my eyes off of his upper body, arms and face while he
was performing his dance! So beautiful, so expressive,
magic and hypnotic!
Thanks you very much for these and other lovely photos
of true life in your fantastic country,
Robi

Hello Mohamed,
Your Tannoura Sufi Dance series was a discovery for me. The Sufi dances have always exerted a fascination on me. Even though I know that many, many people have already tried to photography them, I wish I could try to do it myself.
What surprised me particularly here is the rich, vivid colorful cloths they are wearing. Very interesting effect. I never saw this kind of cloths in Sufi dances' photos before.
I tend to agree with Dan about the focus. But, I realize that you were taking these photos with your small point & shoot Canon S1 IS. Gosh! I can imagine it was pretty difficult to do a proper focus and play with the depth of field. Still, I think they are a nice contribution to TE.
I would suggest to crop the right part, the person cut in part there. I also think that your signature could be a bit smaller, since it is a little bit distracting.
Thanks for this series Mohamed.
Claire
