Photographer's Note
After a long time I again went to Kumartuli. So fascinated about this place that I cannot stop going there. Its a place where one can find so many things to capture. This time I took photographs of the old artist busy in work. He was very eager to see how his photo came out and finally seeing the photo on my lcd screen, he was very happy.

Hello Sayan,
A well composed presentation of the artist at work!
I like the motion blur in the arm, telling me something is actually happening...
Black and white enhances the atmosphere!

Very interesting scene, though slightly disturbing at first glance. It seemed like a headless child upon first viewing, at least that is the sensation it produced in me.
A crop of the pin-hole of light at the top might be beneficial since it tends to attract my vision, but its not big problem. I dont quite like the doors as borders on both sides, it creates a little to much dead-space.

steve

Hi Sayan,
A remarkable photograph.
Definitely a publishable piece.
I like how you can vaguely see the artpiece in the darkness.

Hi, Sayan!
I suppose he is a sculptor? Behind the man there is sculpture of the Shiva goddess, isn't it? Very nice B&W photo stopped in the move.

Dear Sayan,
this looks very nice. the monochrome giving it a timeless feel. good choice of f/2.8 here, nice DOF. like the little blur in the hand motion, while the key visual aspect here is the 'ekchala pratima' seen in the dark interior of the workshop.
Happy clicking. Hoping to visit Kumartuli soon. :)

Well done Sayan.
You have captured some movement in his arm which shows he is working at his craft. I think the B&W works well here.

Hello Sayan,
Your black and white images of village life are priceless. I like the composition of the artisan concentrating on his work. It is so much better when we become observers without disturbing the event (at least to minimize the disturbance. Mr. Heisenberg would forbid unperturbed viewing). I'm delighted that you are able to get away from your research a little bit at least in order to do some art -- the photography.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Sayan,
a very interesting photograph. Im very attracted to the figure that looked to me like a child. Theres a feeling of another presence in his world, something supernatural.

Dear Sayan
Good to see your new post. Well composed with the motion blur on his hands as he dips his hand into the bucket. Good choice of B&W here. The shallow DOF works here as we see the OOF image of Ma Durga in the making. Maybe you could have framed a couple of inch lower so as to not cut his leg. Good work Sayan
Best Wishes

Hello Sayan. First once I would like to say that the photos on your side are above average good and worth seeing. And the crucial for me: in the center are humans. The photo artist belongs to these alive pictures. The black-and-white strengthens the effect of this expression-strong picture additionally. My acknowledgment. Best regards, Wolfgang.
