Whys that?

Because the steep ridge on the left on the Grande Jorasses is called that in french. I have a suspicion that I may have taken this photo from the Aig. de Grepon or I may not have!
The left hand side of the mountain has two massive slab like patches of 50 degree snow, thats called the shroud and the next right is the Walkers spur, never did get round to doing that. However we did traverse most of Rochefort ridge and stayed in a very isolated hut on the snowy saddle.
