Photographer's Note
Located on the northern edge of Fort Knox, Tioga Falls spills down 130 feet from the Cumberland Plateau down into the Ohio River valley. The falls are open to the public and are part of a trail network called "Bridges to the Past," named because of the historic bridges and other remnants of the wagon roads in the area.
This photo is one of very few I took during my 5-month stint at Fort Knox as an armor officer. Trivia note: near the falls, there is a railroad trestle that runs over a paved (and gated) road leading south into Fort Knox; this was the shooting location for the Czech border scenes in the movie "Stripes."
