Photographer's Note
This is an old train car from the historic California Zephyr train line. The train line was an engineering marvel of the time, traversing the trecherous Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and the Rocky Mountians to connect Chicago to the California gold rush in the 1870's. This train is from the 'golden days' of American rail travel, which has dramatically fallen to the wayside since airtravel has become popular and affordable.
This train is on display at the Amtrack station in Maricopa, Arizona. There is no Amtrack service to Phoenix, only to Maricopa which is about 30 miles south and east of the city center.

Hi Jennifer,
Wonderful image and all the better for displaying in B&W, it really adds to the art deco feel of the carriage archetecture. Good POV too. Well done and TFS,

An American classic indeed - such a pity that these trains are now nothing more than museum pieces, but I suppose that's progress...
Another good B&W shot, the light seems like it may have been quite harsh so the conversion is good. Also the choice of B&W gives it an appropriately 'old' feel. Good POV too, very effective.

great perspective and the gray tones on the train really treat it with age. nice capture with the very bright light.

Hi Jennifer
Perfect setting for this old train in the bw, high contrast version you present here. Lovely details and no other way to do this than in the '1950 ' look alike'...

This does very well in black and white. I think color would not have captured the mood and history nearly so well. Your composition is great with the train disappearing off to the side of the frame, gives a sense of depth and distance.

How are you! Jennifer,
Captured the glamorous shape of the good old days very well. It seems to be able to fly over the sky.
Technically, it might be a better finishing to remove tiny notches on the slanting line.
I really like this image very much!
Thanks for sharing,
Hisashi
