Photographer's Note
A-Ma is a godess that has the main assignment to protect fishermen, but, acknowledging her power, many people are attracted to her temple for peace and good luck.
When the Portuguese arrived at this spot, they asked the locals the name of the place. The answer, in Chinese, sounded something like Ah Mah Gow (meaning the bay of A-Ma), and so the Portuguese established and named the place Macau.
This shot was made below one of the many incense coils hanging from the ceiling, they are everywhere in the three buildings dedicated to A-Ma, in the complex, so be prepared to face the "flying ashes" :)

Great shot!
Really interesting perspective.
And quite a useful note as well regarding the origins of the name of Macau.

That's interesting the origin of the name of Macau. The city's name in Chinese is nowadays Àomén (澳門 or 澳门).
The official names of the Macau Special Administrative Region are: Região Administrativa Especial de Macau (in Portuguese) and 澳門特別行政區 / 澳门特别行政区 / Àomén tèbié xíngzhèngqū (in Chinese).

Hi Beijo, I am sure this is not your real name, or is it???? Well it was what attracted me to your photos, I was like beijokense I must check this one out.... I quite like abstract photos like this one! I think it is a bit blured but it is still really cool.
