Catherine, welcome to TE! This is a marvelous first post. It is certainly a lovely girl, and your overexposed background works well to bring our focus to the girl and her face. It looks like I'm out of points, but they aren't very important anyway, and this is a nice image!

Really lovely image! you captured great look of the girl!
I have some things that I would have improve, if you could take the photo in the eye level of the child, it makes much more impresive picture.
and wouldnt place her in the middle of the picture, it's much more interesting when the main subject is placed on one of the sides.

Very nice first pic Catherine, I like the angle and the way you cropped, her lovely face, who couldn't deserve less attention, exactly in the center of the pic.
Some sharpness issue but I guess this is only but scanning problems. Pls carry on.

Great picture. Not technically perfect--there is the overexposed shoulder, but here that's not very important. Two strong personalities come through nicely in that picture--both the subject and the photographer.

Great potrait. I did a vertical crop and posted it to workshop. I also change the color profile from AdobeRGB to sRGB. sRGB is the defacto standard for the web, AdobeRGB color looks muted when seen on the web.
