Photographer's Note

Here I would start to become exotic ;)
Champagne pool in Waiotapu - huge, unique thermal spring. It is some 900 years old pool, diameter 60 m, depth again some 60 m. Water temperature - 74 degrees. Water? Just partly - there is also mix of different acids, metal salts etc. Here you see the rim of this pool - there is shallow belt (approximately 1 meter) of bright orange sediments (coloured by antymonium, gold and some more metal salts) and then it becomes very deep.
This was rainy, cold day. It was not easy to wait for the the steam to be blown away by the wind - but I managed to capture it :)
Picture is taken with small Pentium analogue camera, scanned, AutoLevels, mild Contrast Mask (25%). Cloned out some small white spots.
