Photographer's Note
The idols of goddess Durga are being prepared. The preparation has reached its last stages, since the artists have not much time before the ceremony commences in two weeks time on 9 October.
Here I catch one of the artists working on the face of an idol. The half colored statue has to be worked on the face, the ritual is called "Chakhkhudaan" (giving the goddess her eyes) and traditionally done on the first day of Debipakhshya (the fortnight of the goddess). Times have changed, and work pressure has made artists to compromise, and they do it earlier than they used to do years back.
The kaarigar (artist) is seen working on the face, to be precise, he is painting the lips. Again, this is sequel and I will put more posts on this event. The exact moment of painting the eyes will be seen in the following posts.

Hello. Interesting and original for me. Your colours here is strong like fire- I like it. So many false hands, hands on the bottom right corner is false to but on the first moment looks like real. Very good composition and captured. All image is so bizzare like from horror. Only your mada-man is a litle to dark. good luck

Wonderfull image, so well composed, so insolite.
And thiscolor which flows like blood.
confrontation between a nude woman god and half nude mortal man.
All theese arms.
Deep meaning...
Great ,really; I take it in my favorites

Hello Arnab,
Peru was a fantastic trip. This country is amazing...like your picture here. The framing is excellent, I like this low angle shoot, very respectful in front of Durga. The orange color is very intense.
See you

Hi Arnab,
What a brilliant image. Beautiful colours, nice angle with lots of inner meanings to be derived.

Hi Arnab, I love the contrasts of this image, the artists head gets a little lost in the rafters due to the darkness and angle of view, nothing a little post production couldn't fix. Thanx for sharing this beautiful image.
