This old house canonic of theSaint-Pierre chapter was built on the vestiges of the Gallo-Roman enclosure.
It is in this district that, until the Revolution, the Palate of the Counts de Champagne rose. At the XIXe century, the buildings are occupied by diligences going of Troyes in Paris, and by the Post office with the horses.
According to the oral tradition, the postilions left the Louvre, in Paris, from where its name.
