The death of a river...
As I said it yesterday, the Tsauchab river, after having crossed the Sessriem canyon, having borrowed with its neighbor the Aub river, 64 km through the valley between dunes, finishes here, losts itself in sands in this pan named Sossusvlei.
At an older time, the rivers reached the Deadvlei, a pan of white color, absolutely desiccated, where you can see half petrified trees, died 600 years ago. Deadvlei is behing the dune a front of you.
Although we were in winter, in this place the temperature is very high!
