A fisherman boat on the sacred waters of Lake Titicaca.

At 3821 m above sea level Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world with average depth at about 150m. Water temperature is almost constant at 11°C (51°F).
Many rivers empty into the lake and there is just one outlet - the shallow Rio Desaguadero.

According to legend the first Incas emerged from the depths of Lake Titicaca to found their empire. Whether true or not, the lake is truly magical.
