B-52 Bomber debris displayed in War Museum in Hanoi.
I was deeply moved when I visited this war Museum. The first thing that goes through our heads when we hear about Vietnam is the bloody war. This war museum has preserved all the stories of hardships that the Vietnamese people went through, the atrocities carried out by their enemies and the glories of Viet-Cong warriors during the war. From the freedom-war with French troops to the fierce battle with American GIs, this museum tells every story. It has a huge collection of simple weapons used by Viet-Cong warriors to the sophisticated weapons they seized from their enemies. During the war with US, Viet-Cong soldiers were able to bring down the B-52 US bomber using very simple missiles. The debris of the B-52 bomber is displayed proudly in the museum courtyard along with the small missiles used by the Vietnamese soldiers.
I wished that all the warmongers of our time visit this museum and learn from the sorrows of war displayed in this museum. Did America learn anything from the Vietnam war ?

Hi Rabin,
I don't think that somebody still learnt anything from the past. I'm sure they will.
Anyway, this is a very good capture of a sad story and memories.
Very sahrp image. A little bright but not that bothering. The only point is that I wish you'd eliminate this barrel right over there.
Good job and thanks for sharing...

Hi Rabin, while being in school I had once hisory teacher that asked the class why we think that we have history lessons. Well, I don't have to repeat the answer we came up with. In the meantime I would give a different answer.
Knowing about history doesn't provide better judgement, just as knowing about the harm that cigarettes induced doesn't prevent people in starting smoking. I doubt that going through such a museum will make world leaders take different approaches. I know, it's a sad statment ...
The picture itself could be a little bit sharper and the barrel doesn' seem pertaining to the photo. Still, I think it is a worth shot to be posted at TE. Even if such pictures do not change decisions it is necessary to see the reality!
I share your feelings. I hate wars too!!!
Regards, Peter
