Photographer's Note

As sunrise's molten color fades into morning the Eagletail Mountain range catches the sun's first light.

Sitting over the junction of 3 Arizona counties, the Eagletail Mountain Wilderness is another of Arizona's natural and historic gems hidden in plain sight. The Wilderness is located about 75 miles west of Phoenix, just south of the Interstate 10 highway. The Eagletail Mountains Wilderness covers 97,880 acres and became part of the National Wilderness Preservation System in 1990. It is administered by the US's Bureau of Land Management.
