‘Daily tasks in rural Dhampus’

Although Dhampus is very small, I found it perfect for a number of picturesque snapshots.
The people who live there belong tot he ethnic Gurung community.
The Gurung religious traditions are basically animistic. In 2011 the total population of Gurung was 522.641 or 2 % of the population of Nepal.

When I was there in mid-November it was millet harvest time.
According to Wikipedia millets are a group of highly variable small-seeded grasses, widely grown around the world as cereal crops or grains for fodder and human food. I was surprised about the very dark colour of the grains.

Not on the spot, but only at home I noticed on my main photo the blue and white rectangle hanging from the roof.
I have no idea what it really is … I would be very surprised to find a solar panel in Dhampus.
