Photographer's Note
One 'trullo', but 2 or more the plural is trulli. Imagine 3 horizontal lines. The fg where this was taken is the north ridge, the main street inthe valley where the throngs of people are standing is the centre, and the distant trulli are on the southern ridge. The north is less visited by throngs of tourists, whereas the south is packed with tourists. Both are worth visiting. The backlight here was tricky. I have cropped the white sky in camera and given what sky there was, a blue tint.

Hello Chris,
This is a very interesting photo and a great view of the village. It actually makes me think of a mixture of Cappadocia and an African village. The view is amazing and the groups of people make the view come alive. Of course it would have been better to see lots of locals, but that would be asking for too much in these days of mass tourism. At least they bring life and colours to the generally very grey view.
Kind regards,
Gert

Dear Chris,
You chose your POV very well, so we can observe these interesting roofs from a closer look. The roofs in the background create an interesting pattern.
Best Wishes,
Gy

Hi Chris
What a unique and very cool place, it doesn't look built by human hands. I can't imagine a better point of view

Hello Chris!
Well seen, even better handled. You made the best possible use of a difficult light situation. Great depth of field, the trulli look physical as if they could be grabbed from the photo.

Good morning Chris,
Beautiful same style roof-tops and chimneys from a higher point, a returning pattern that made this place so unique.
Distinct contrast with green, people around and uphill's beyond the village.
Enjoy a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Chris,
I like very much the point of view, which offers an excellent perspective through these curiously designed houses. The crowd of people offers a secondary focal point and helps enliven the scene. Very good rendering of the textural detail.

Bonjour Chris,
La suite des maisons donne de la profondeur à la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des maisons. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir la beauté des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
your point of view is unsual and the structure of your composition is very interesting. Depth, details and textures are excellent and I like very much how the rhythmical architectural patterns spread in the greatest part of the frame. I also like the brief interludes offered by the people and the vegetation. The colours are lovely and the picturesque village is presented in an inviting way. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
Ourania

Hello Chris,
Wow, what a great view of these wonderful houses and their pointy roofs. I really like the repetitive effect they create and you captured the town in a well handled sunlight. The vertical composition is excellent and I like to see the many people in the streets too.

Hello Chris,
This shot immediately attracted my attention!
What an amazing place!
I don't think I have ever heard of 'trullo' before!
They make a remarkable picture!
What I found surprising was the square houses but conical roofs! Usually, conical roofs are on circular buildings!
Does 'bees', 'busy' and 'hives' spring to mind.
You did well to crop the uninteresting sky.
There is so much of interest in the rest of the shot, sharply captured and with a fine sense of depth.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
Alberobello looks very attractive.
What a wonderful overview of all these remarkable roofs.
Just like your title says: a sea of trulli.
Almost all the roof tops are white.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Chris. Most interesting POV which allows us to admire the architecture from all angles and reveals the roof structure at close range. I wonder if this has become an uninhabited village apart from some tourist shops, for if people are actually living here as in the old days, they would go bonkers with all these intrusive and loud tourists. How could an old woman sit outside and enjoy the warmth of the sun with everyone gawking at her and trying to take a photo surreptitiously or otherwise. Regards. Klaudio
