Photographer's Note

A brick mosaic entitled the "Steelworker", in the Castlegate Quarter of Sheffield.

It was commissioned in the 1980's to commemorate the steel industry of Sheffield and is by Paul Waplington.

"Based on a real steelworker, but modified so that it would work with the size of the bricks used.As a result, the eyes are much bigger than the man the mosaic was modelled on."

A long lasting reminder of the industry that Sheffield became world famous for.
The street furniture gives an idea of the size of the work.
It was a bright and sunny morning, and due to the position of the artwork, this was the best angle that I could achieve.

Thanks for looking.
