Photographer's Note

This is Bass Head lighthouse, a very famous lighthouse in Acadia National Park in the state of Maine, New England. This is a place I have only ever saw in books until very recently recently. I was very lucky to visit this area on our recent vacation and was also very lucky to be there in such fine conditions. I waited for 2 hrs to get this shot and am pleased that I was able to capture the sunset and the way it warms the rocks around the lighthouse. I shot at a high F number to enable me to get the shutter speed quite slow which allowed the water to look calm and smooth on what was a very pleasant evening. I am also particularly happy about how the lighthouse reflected in the rock pool in front of the camera. I used a 3 stop ND grad to balance out the sky.
