A dedication required of the stairs in Alonissos island all climbs and descents, stairs and rough trails, certainly not the ideal place for those who have some difficulty in moving.Pic taken in the old town. The old village is located on one of the highest hills of the island. The country, beautifully renovated after the earthquake of 1965, comes to life in the late afternoon when they open doors restaurants, taverns and workshops in conjunction arrival of swarms of hikers from other parts of the island with the intention of enjoying the beautiful sunsets.
Alonissos is the least touristed island in the Sporades Islands. It is 3 km (2 nm) E of the island of Skopelos. Alonissos is also the name of a village on the island. The Municipality of Alonissos includes several other islands.
The island at its widest is 4.5 km from northwest to southeast and at its longest is 20 km from southwest to northeast. The island is mostly limestone. It is located east of mainland Greece and Magnesia, northeast of Euboea and northwest of the island of Skyros. Alonissos has one main road which leads to three villages in the western part of the island and several unused roads throughout the island.
The village of Alonissos is located on the southern part of the island. It is locally known as Chora. The main port of the island is located in the southeast and is called Patitiri. There is ferry and hydrofoil service from Patitiri to Volos, Agios Konstantinos, and Thessaloniki on the mainland and to the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Skyros. The bay at the southern end of the island is also called Alonissos.

Ciao caro Luciano,
I see that you have now been seduced into posting pictures larger than 800 pixels wide! And, of course, this picture looks so very much better and more detailed in its larger size on the "beta" version of TE.
An interesting note and a delightful photograph with lovely bold composition, fine light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
Bravo!
Kind Regards,
John.

Ciao Luciano,
From the thumbnail view I guessed a geometric wall building, and was surprised you cleverly zoomed in on a curved stairway.
Good job,

Hello Luciano,
ah,these beautiful Greek steps-steep,colorful and so picturesque.Even if I´m lazy I could walk them up and down everyday:)
Your POV looking down together with close-up captures well the most important features here-beauty of the steps and its steepness. But also so soft and warm light helps a lot to depict the steps from their most capivating side with nice colors and good textures visible.
Have a nice sunday

Hi Luciano
anyone who has visited the Greek islands knows the need to negotiate stairs and steps to truly enjoy the experience. This is a wonderfully original view with superb sharp detailing and delicious shadows to create depth and a sense of adventure. Excellent!

buona domenica...

Hello Luciano
With the help of the sunlight and shadows and some very good cropping, you have produced a most appealing yet deceptively simple graphic photo. You use the steps and the corners of your frame very well to create the angle of view. Really very nicely conceived and executed. Good note, and thank you for the map link - always appreciated and enjoyed!

Ciao Luciano,
Complimenti e grazie!
Tanti saluti e buona domenica,

Hello Luciano,
You chose an angle of view to prove your point, the dangers of stairs, especially for impaired people. The white lines bordering the stairs create some sort of graphic pattern. I like the light in this sharp composition.

Hi Luciano,
I like this unusual view very much, but would worry that if I look at it too long I may fall off my chair, as its a wonderfully dizzying shot, hahaha. Very clever point of view to create this fine set of geometric shapes and with perfect depth.
Best wishes

Hello Luciano,
I think this picture shows how a composition can be improved just by shifting the POV a little bit. Instead of trying to capture the steps all the way to the bottom you moved to the side and concentrated on the upper part, giving us a nice contrast between the rounded upper few steps and the ordinary straight ones below. The white lines at the edges of the steps create a fine pattern.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Luciano,

Hello Luciano,
This is a great shot!
It took me completely by surprise as I perceived it as something quite different from the thumbnail.
It is unusual to be 'going down' in a shot but you have certainly created that impression!
Your pov is well chosen for the steps narrow appropriately to funnel the viewers to a strong vanishing point.
Excellent sharpness and good light control.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Luciano,
You're capturing well this scene by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the stairs with the corkscrew shape the wooden handrail. It's also tasteful for repeat patterns of white and thin brown. And, the shadow projected to the stairs draw out a good impact in this image.
Kind regards,

Ciao Luciano,
This is proof that not all graphic imagery needs to be done in black & white...this packs just as much of a visual "punch!" For something most people would pass by, or walk on by...literally...you've composed and created an intriguing photograph. The directional sunlight is a sublime touch to compliment the warm range of tones, and given a little added emphasis on the curves. A smart observation and well layed out framing. Isn't it great when the simplest of things comes together like this? :) Enjoy the day ahead.
Friendly wishes from Arizona,
