Ayia Kyriaki from Vromolithos, a photo from Dodekanisos, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

A view to the north-east, to the islet of Ayia Kyriaki that has no inhabitants or buildings apart from the chapel just seen on its right edge. Beyond Ayia Kyriaki lies the coast of Turkey.
I took this picture from the side of the main street in Vromolithos. The vantage point is next to one of the hundreds of eucalyptus trees planted during the italian occupation and still gracing the streets of the island.
This place is beautiful during all seasons and times of the day. I've noticed that even the people who pass from there many times everyday can't resist having a look each time. I always do too.

Avec dans le coin gauche ce bout de tronc quel cadrage l'ile de Robinson Crusoé mervielleux ce bleu et la forme de lîle sueprbe.

Part of the tree gives excellent contrast to the picture.

made the right choice to pos with the tree on left, this gave frame to the scene and added depth.

Hi Ourania,
I can see why people would always stop for a look, what an impressive scene! The island is beautiful, and looks quite mystical, quite like the stuff of legends. The fact that there is a church built there and nothing else adds another very interesting element to this place. Really beautiful scene.

Voila la raison pour laquelle autant de touristes envahissent les iles grecques tous les ans. Le cadrage vertical ajoute beaucoup de profondeur à la composition ainsi que toutes les teintes possible de bleu.

Another seascape of great interest, the stunnig islet makes the shot to otherwise looks ordinary. Beautifully arranged picture with the fg and portion of the tree add the tremendous depth over looking the sea view and pretty light filtering through. The compo helps viewers to explore into the perspective, a good rendition of colors, lighting and contrast. Turquoise calm water adds a superb touch. Lovely calm shot, Congrats.

siamo in Grecia ed eppure sembra di stare in una bella isola del Pacifico. Il mare ha dei colori splendidi e quel piccolo particolare di tronco in primo piano ci sta a meraviglia per dare gran profondità all'immagine.

Is that an Australian gum tree I see at left? A superb high pov with good sharpness and excellent warm cold colour contrasts between the blue sea and sky and the yellow red dried grasses and rocks. I like the transparency of the sea showing the dark rocky reefs. Tfs!

Beautiful seascape! I like the used of the tree to anchor the left side of the image and provide a good reference point and dof. Details are sharp from near to infinity. Good lighting control and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Hello Ourania,
This is a lovely view where i would probably stop ever so often if I lived here. The tones of brown/yellow/green in the foreground and blue/green of most of the photo are lovely. You did very well to include part of a euchalyptus. Their trunks are very beautiful.
I will take a break from TE for some early vacation and expect to be back here in mid-June.

Hello Ourania,

Once again you use excellent the space in the
picture and that is an example for a lots of
people (less is more). Normal I'm not
enthusiastic about trees that is "framing"
the forground, but in this picture it works
very well and it emphasize extra the depth.
The light management is also great.
