Photographer's Note
I made my first photography visit to Death Valley NP in 2009 and was blessed with epic conditions during my first visit to Zabriskie Point. It's no wonder why this view is iconic and a must see when visiting the park. The overhead clouds exploded in a bright orange hue casting warm tones over much of the badlands in the foreground. In the distance, hues of blue and magenta dominated much of the Panamint range. It was definitely one of those times where you know you are witnessing something special. Often in landscape photography, timing is everything.
