Photographer's Note

The first day of spring(March 20) in Iran is called "Norouz", meaning 'The new day', and it is also the begining day of new year.People celeberate the new year for a 13 days period.

In this period, there is a tradition to decorate a table and name it 'Haft-sin' which means 'seven-S'.
In 'Haft-sin', they gather seven subjects which their first letter begins with 'S' letter in persia like:coins(Sekeh),sumach(Somagh),Garlic(Sir),apple(Sib), home-made barley grass (Sabzeh), etc, which each is indicator of a symbol;for example, apple is a symbol of health;coin is a symbol of wealth and etc.

Gold fish and painted eggs are also other components of 'haft-sin'.
Unfortunately, I didn't find a better photo of haft-sin which include all above.
