Photographer's Note

In the Middle Ages much of the wealth in the Vall de Boi area (North-east of Spain) was spent on the construction of many churches and religious buildings from the 11th to the 14th centuries, in the new architectural style imported from Lombardy.
The churches are characterized by elaborate stonework and elegant bell towers.

The enclosed photo is made last October and reproduces the Ermita de Sant Quirc about 2 kms from Taüll.
