Photographer's Note

A couple of my favourites, Martin (MJR) and Mike'n'Gail (mikebottomley) have recently uploaded "bookmark" photographs which I have found really rather interesting. They, of course, both had the inspiration for this format from splendid images posted by Bernd Matheis in this style.

We are, of course, limited by the size restrictions of TE - a minimum dimension is 250 pixels - so there is a definite limit to how tall and narrow a picture can be. Of course, others have uploaded vertical panoramas like this one and that would be another option we could try.

Again, this one was taken in one of my favourite haunts in the Scottish Borders - this is the Talla Water, a small river running downwards and about to disappear down some steep falls before finally entering the Talla Reservoir which you can see below in the distance.

You can see from where I took the picture if you look at Map:[view] or, if you wish, you can look at this map, then drag the "yellow man" onto the red cross and have a little drive along the little narrow road and enjoy the view yourselves!

Shot in RAW using a polarising filter and converted and edited in PSE6.
