Photographer's Note
Mur de la Reformation (or Reformation Wall) erected in 1909 for the 400th anniversary of the birth of Jean Calvin and the 350th anniversary of the foundation of Geneva's Academy, a famous Protestant school. The monument takes the form of a wall 100 m long on which stand 5-m statues of the four leaders of the Reformation in Geneva: Guillaume Farel, Jean Calvin, Theodore de Beze - first rector of the Academy and John Knox. The monument is adorned with reliefs depicting the history of the reformation. On the pavement in front of the monument the arms of Geneva are shown betweeen the Bear of Bern and the Lion of Scotland, symbolizing the religious alliance between these Swiss cities and Scotland. The monument is flanked by memorials to Martin Luther and Ulrich Zwingli, two other leaders of the Reformation.

Hello Burcu
What a great shot... Powerful !
The two nuns in font these impressive statues seem to be so small. Great sens of scale.
The B&W is a good idea to enhance the contrasts, and to strengthen the scene.
The fine quality lets appreciate each detail of your picture.
Compliments for this quiet mystical image.

Karine

Hi Burcu
this beautiful photos with a composition leads one of the rules of photography is very important that the dimension between the objects according to the point of view. an excellent choice in black and white with a unique perspective. I simply love this picture! It is sooo strange. Serious but funny, dramatic but absurd.. Scenery like from Fellini's movie, hard to believe all is truth but it is!

Hello Burcu,
A strong pohoto well brought in black and white. Fine contrasts and a content that leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

İstanbul Halk Ekmek işi epey büyütmüş...
Bence şimdiye kadarki (en azından TE'de gördüğüm) en başarılı fotoğrafın. Tebrikler.

Hello Burcu,
Superb photograph, I like much. The black and white treatment reinforces the visual effect given by the size of the stone, one would say that these giants leave the wall!!! These two sisters who seem in prayer give much impact to the image. A beautiful photographic eye, Burcu cheer. I allowed myself a WS… Thank you also for the instructive note.
With all my friendships and a very good evening,

you guys stay away and we miss some serios photography, virtual tours..great composition, i like the lack of definition on the nuns, rendering them insignificant should i say against the imposing statues..see you

This is another one I really like. Very different from your "Run!" picture, very static, the classical, but everything works and fits together.
I just wrote to another TE'person about how I am jealous of some photographer's uniformity, strictness in style (something which really is far, far away from the way I work)...your gallery is great example.
Hats off to you & I hope to see more later.

Merhaba Burcu Hanim,
Haftalardir gördügüm en güzel, en ilginç bir fotograf. Ellerinze saglik.
By far the most compelling shot I've seen in weeks. The presence of the two nuns serves to establish scale, to give it human presence and to add highlight.
Selam ve saygilar,

An impressive composition Burcu Hanım, the choice of b&w accentuates the powerful framing and the assymetric balance. My only suggestion would be to burn out the nuns' head scarves.
Selam ve sevgilerimle,
Erdem
