The Saint-Maurice cathedral whose constructions and rebuildings extend from 6th to the 20th centuries, is an example of the Gothic style from Angers with semi way between the Romanesque arts and Gothic. It is classified with the historic buildings since 1962.

_One first church of the 6th century was rebuilt at the 8th century.
_Fires involved new rebuildings with 9th and 11th centuries. The arched nave of warheads was completed in 1153, the transept was rebuilt as from 1190, just as the chorus as from 1274.
_One new fire in 1533, the destruction of the wars of religion in 1562, the ransacks and plunders of the French revolutionists of 1789, justified restorations at the 19th century and the rebuilding of the spires at the beginning of the 20th century.

_With length a 91 meters for a width of 23 meters, it include a nave long 48 meters, broad 16 meters, and high 25 meters. Its bell-towers rise with 75 meters.

_La cathedral sheltered as from the 15th century the famous TAPISSERIE de l'APOCALYPSE. Its 104 meters length represent 69 complete pictures, and are now visible in the CHÂTEAU d'ANGERS.

ANGERS is a French commune, located in the department of Maine-et-Loire of the area of the Pays de la Loire, populated of 151179 Angevins in 1999, distributed out of 44 km², that is to say 3407 hab./km².

_Le climate of Angers is enough to justify the expression "LA DOULCEUR ANGEVINE", softness from Angers.
_Angers is the prefecture of the department of Maine-et-Loire, and the old capital of Anjou, located at the bnank of Maine river, close to its confluence with the Loire river. The city is classified with the world heritage of UNESCO.
_L' Anjou is a province familiar, genealogical old, and very dear, of which I know the village of "la Pommeraye" well in which I lived, and the Loire Valley. Angers is a familiar and cultural city of which I know well the Chevrollier college and the campus Belle-Beille.
_Year 2009 was the 600th birthday of the birth of King Rene, René 1st of Anjou, known as "Le Bon Roi René", good king René, born on January 16th in Angers, duke of Anjou of 1434 with its death, on July 10th, 1480 in Aix-en-Provence, and buried with the cathedral of Angers.
