Photographer's Note

The theme of the International Fair of Caen, this year, is India and the history of the Maharajas.
An exhibition, with spectacular sceneries, is devoted to Rajput noblemen at the time of their splendor.
Sculptures of elephants, roses, jasmine, music... We are immersed in the heart of a beautiful journey.

- Séries of photos of a Norman in Rajasthan, Pierre-Yves Le Meur.
- Portraits of the Rajput princes.
- Reconstruction of a real tiger hunt.
- An area devoted to scents of India with selected essential oils.
- Rajasthan handicrafts.
- Reconstruction of the roof garden of the famous Lake Palace, one of the finest hotels in the world.
- Royal Collection of fabrics, textiles, jewelry etc. lent for the first time. And the replicas specially designed for the exhibition of twenty of the finest diamonds from the Indian soil.
- Musicians, dancers, and colorful entertainment...

The exhibition took more than a year of work, with the assistance of many Indians.
So to welcome them, here is the sari of a singer repeating a show. India was honored all summer long on a pedestrian square in Caen.
I would have liked it was a pink one : the color that means "welcome" in Rajasthan o;)

For those leaving further south, be aware that the exhibition takes the road to Montpellier, for his show in early October !

A little wink at two members in love with India sharing their great shots : Pascale and Patrick.
