A more large view than the previous post about the Mount Moucherotte and Grenoble city

The Moucherotte (1901 m) is the Eastern top of the Vercors, but also most septentrional of the long peak which traverses the solid mass of north in the south, thus dominating Grenoble. Its slopes extend on the communes from Saint-Nizier-of-Moucherotte the, Lans-in-Vercors, Seyssins and Claix.

There was formerly a cable car which connected the village of Saint-Nizier of Moucherotte to the top where a hotel was also held, the Hermitage. Following financial problems and with acts of vandalism, the hotel will close definitively in the middle of the Années 1970. Its single and exceptional situation attracted the stars of the time. Besides it was used as decoration with the turning of some scenes of the film the Support on the neck, with Brigitte Bardot. Besides she will remain there wedged longer than envisaged following a snowstorm. The majestic hotel, then ruins of it at the beginning of the Années 2000, was demolished to return to the site its original beauty. Consequently occasion, the station of the cable car was destroyed. Today, there does not remain practically any more any trace of this glorious last.

At the time of the Winter Olympics of 1968, the test of the Ski jump was held on the springboard of 90 meters always in place on the northern buttress of Moucherotte. It is not used any more since the end of the Années 1980.
