Photographer's Note
As promised, I wanted to go back to posting photos of the beautifully rustic cemetery in Lima.
In no way am I an expert on cemeteries, but this one must be unique! Has anyone else seen one similar?
It was so easy to get lost, and looking down this alley you can see why. All of the long rows looked identical, so it was hard to remember any 1 specific subject to differentiate it from another. We go lost in about 10 minutes! Obviously we found our way out, and luckily we passed by that old broken down blue car i posted a couple days ago.
Hope you enjoy this HDR version of long lines. If you look at the WS photos you'll see how quickly the lighting and sky changed. In one of the photos its so dark and gloomy. There's still more to come!
In this photo, the far back wall is actually another row, its not enclosed but it feels this way when you look at it. Forgive me if the lines don't all add up as it was terribly difficult to align everything here.
Thanks for looking

Buona giornata

Hi Craig,
I have something for you, see my last post:). It looks very creepy. I wonder if you were in other "cemetery" in Lima that was used just before this one was established. I mean the Lima's first cemetery were the catacombs below the monastery San Francisco. These underground tunnels contains the bones of some 75,000 people. In many places the bones have been stacked in eerie geometric patterns. The catacombs remained in use until 1808 when a city cemetery outside of Lima was founded. The catacombs were discovered in 1943.I was there. It was very special experience :)

Hello Craig,
Again, the wide angle makes the walls look as if they are caving in. But, that suits the subject perfectly in my mind. Wonderful long depth and exceptional detail. Glad that you managed to find your way out:-)

Hello Craig,
I believe that this is a better system than our cemeteries in the ground.
We get a lovely view of these special cemetery.
Sharpness and clarity are pleasant to look at.
Excellent composition.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,
John.

Hello Craig,
The perspective and geometry is quite interesting and this is densification pushed to the limit as they do in many cities today for the living. In fact, some cheap condominium complexes are built in the same manner, so the deads will feel like home when they have to move into this cemetary.
Best regards

Bonjour Craig,
Voici un endroit ou cette superbe lentille était des plus utile. Elle apporte beaucoup de profondeur à l'endroit et de la netteté sur tous les éléments. J'aime aussi la très grande symétrie de l'ensemble.

Hi Craig,
Yes, not a cemetery as we usually see them ! They optimize space :) Good POV. The perspective lines make us understand how big the cemetery wall is.
Have a nice day,

Hi Craig
this is an evocative and truly amazing shot of this cemetery. The wide angle enhances the effect so intriguingly and the workshop images are just as fascinating. I suppose it saves space by placing them on top of each other.

Hi Craig,
Glasnevin cemetery (my graveyard of choice locally) has similar walls for the ashes of those cremated, but they are standalone walls scattered throughout the site, they don't form together to make a maze like this place. It is a fascinating place, and one I would love to see in person (keeping in mind your first note about getting here safely of course). The tree in the middle is cool too, while I can see its a sapling, it looks like a full grown one, making the grave walls seem even more huge and imposing. Is it morbid to say I love this place? :)
All the best

Ciao Craig
Complimenti
Ciao e buona serata

Hi Craig,
the penultimate photo with the car was great, but here we get really good impression what wide-angle lens can create.Amazing shot! For me both walls and the way they "surround" us in the FG make kind of scary feel of the scene.Something we wouldn´t achieve with commong zoom lens.
Superb composition!
Kind regards

Hi Craig,
Wow, that wide angle does wonders for this perspective...feels like it would take forever to reach that back wall! What a fascinating cemetery, and these shots you've provided I'm sure will spark interest for others whenever they may travel to these locations. Speaking of, I'm loving that second WS pic, that one might actually be my favorite out of these three....all of which would be deserving of their own posting!
You and Noel really need to team up some time, I bet you'd both have a field day roaming the grounds. I have to admit, there's something about them that has an oddly fascinating enchantment. Hope you have more from here, this has been a treat to follow! Have a good evening.
Take it easy,
Jason

Hello Craig,
Wow! this is an amazing pic with strange, unique feeling to be there between the cemetery walls. It's come to mine mind how they put the flowers to the upper location grave. Awesome. Thank you for sharing. It is really impressive.

Hi Craig,
i'm considering buying the 8 mm more and more :-)
Good symmetry and lovely, converging lines. The cemetery Looks huge and the wide angle makes it look even bigger. A good Thing was to include the small tree in the middle, it kind of sustains the whole Image.

Hello Craig,
I like this symmetrical view of the cemetery. That one lonely tree seems to be the only sign of life, surrounded by so much death. Adding a surrealist twist to the scene, I can even imagine the sadness felt by that little tree, as it sits alone there. I do agree that cemeteries can be interesting places. They certainly hold a lot of history. I'm glad you made it out safely, and that no ghosts, or crazy people, got you!! :-)

Gidday Craig
These Limans really know how to make death look pretty. As do you ;) love the exaggerated perspective, the powdery blue sky and the wonderful graphism that the tombs create. And of course knowing that you risked life and limb to come to this dangerous place, you get top marks and a "naughty boy" from me.
Just slothing here at Abu Dhabi airport after a 14 hour flight from Sydney. A 3 hour wait and then 6 hour flight to Dublin and 3 hour bus ride to meet me sweetheart in County Tyrone. I'll probably to be TE'ing whilst m away, but might try and Instagram or Facebook.
Hugs to you, T and Scooby

Hello Craig
Well you know - to my eye this doesn't look like a cemetery. It reminds me of the council estate hi-rises where people live in some parts of the UK. Le Corbusier's "machines for living" where people are in some ways spiritually dead- talk about sick building syndrome!
Anyway - great perspective and as for the lines and corners - who cares! The shot works.
