Photographer's Note
The title of this photo is named after my own blog :-)
The lucky boots traveled around the world because the owner is a bit mad.
The boots were in Peru, during Huayhuash Trek. Enjoying the Mitacocha lake and Jirishanca peak.
I posted some pictures already about this amazing trek.
Cordilera Huayhuash is 100km away from Huaraz.
During this trek, I could see Siula Grande (Touching the Void, by Joe Simpson)

Hello Artesia,
This is a delightful shot!
Your use of the tent doorway, as a natural frame, gives the impression that we are sharing the view with you, the photographer! And what a view it is!!!
I have camped many times but never with a view like that to greet me in the morning!
The boots are great touch, helping to give the sense of depth, besides bringing us back down to earth!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Classic POV, I can say. But still quite an interesting view, nevertheless. The most important thing in the evening is where to pitch a tent. :-)
I like Joe Simpson's book, too.
One more thing - I would have slightly brightened the sky in the BG.

Hello Artesia,
Thanks for your comments a short while ago on my Chinese picture. This is another very good composition where the rugged peak is nicely insciped inside the rounded opening of your tent (looks more like a hut, actually). The boots are an amusing part of the composition and no doubt they have a deep significance to you. I love how the tones of the ground get gradually darker further away.
Kind regards,
Gert

Artesia,
I thought you called them lucky boots because they are worn by you. Hehe. If only they can speak for themselves… “We got trampled on, drag up and down the mountain, go to places we never imagine, like the hole in the ground toilet, walk on animal dunks, muddy trail, dragged through snow” and you call that LUCKY? We just want to stay home, go for a nice little walk get a massage and be pampered.
Okay, as a pair of boots, they certainly have been and seen many places. Many people would consider that lucky to see as many places as these boots has. They are also lucky they didn't have to go through what happen in "Touching the Void" What a nail biting movie. He may have loss his fingers with the frost bite, I lost mine, because i-bite, not frost bite. This is a very cute shot looking through the opening of the tent. How many times I was in there looking out at the scenery but it was so cold to get out there.
Great shot.

Ciao Artesia,
Complimenti
Ciao e buon fine settimana

It's nice to think yourself crazy. It's the only way to live beautiful moments with others of the same guild. I think it's great idea of some people to "build" each night at home in a new location in the mountains. Gives man freedom and confidence.
I haven't read the book but have seen the survival film.
Glad we communicate regularly!

Hi Artesia,
Like many have said before me, excellent point of view! It really gives the sense of being in the tent, and what an amazing view once it's opened! The boots add a nice touch of humor actually, I think it's a fun idea to have them placed in the foreground like that. Really neat to have natural wildlife right outside the "door." The thing that strikes me the most here is the light, how it plays in different areas of the image...almost whimsically. Beautiful shot!

Hi Artesia,
beautiful composition: I like very much the original framing with the tent. This was a fantastic view from the "hotel" window! Spectacular mountain range plus some animals around.
The shoes make a nice contribution.
Excellent work,

Hello Artesia,
A splendid view of the majestic Andes peaks seen from in your tent.
The picture has an excellent depth of field. At regular intervals from the camera, there's something interesting to see. It starts with the funny sight of the 'lucky' boots. Further there are the animals. Then the grassland and the lake. And finally the steep rising high mountains.
Wonderful picture.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Artesia
This is a beautiful image, the framing of the scene with the tent is masterful, and the view beyond is just breathtaking. A fantastic play of light and shadow too, I personally would NOT have brightened the sky as suggested above, I think the effect you have captured here is enchanting.
Best wishes
Noel
