Photographer's Note
In a long section of the route between Asuncion and Ciudad del Este, there are strange lines along the route. I always questioned myself their origin. A broken painting machine? Maybe...
But what I can tell you is that driving on that road with the sun hitting with a low angle, gives you a strange feeling.
Everything seems almost black and white, and the winding stripes are kind of frightening.
I wanted to grab that feeling, waited till the time was right, then I shooted. We were moving at more than 100Km/hr.
K.
No crop, and almost no changes, only USM a bit, nothing else.

Wow, an amazing and very interesting shot. It really gets the mind thinking of what created these lines, and for what purpose. Great Shot ! :)

Hi Kike! This is indeed an interesting pattern on the pavement and you caught the right moment: good reflection of the sun in the patterns, nice curve of the road and another vehicle in the distance going through the curve. I wish it could have been a bit sharper to give the patterns even more impact, but considering your speed of travel this is a great result. I just hope that you weren't holding the steering wheel....;-)

Hi Cesar - I believe to have seen this kind of repair work on roads here - but never with a pattern like this - I could try to take a photo - but it can't compete with this - thanks for a nicely composed image as well.

Hi Kike, very strange pattern. I would say it’s repair work for the asphalt with fluid tar, but they are so strange and whimsical. The sun shining on the lines is very nice. Well seen, but I hope V. was driving ;-)
Take care, and be careful

This is certainly the effet of some subtances abuse when they painted the central line :-))) Or traces from giant snails's promenade :-))
Anyway this is surprising and graphic.

very interesting road here, I like the curve of the road which makes the extraorinary writing or wiggly line follow the road markings too, well done

hi Cesar,
interesting pattern..I loved it:) I wish we had roads like this instead of the lines..it looks like the road paint machine was broken :) or hand operated by a drunk driver :)
I wish you a very good new year..

Olá César!
Pelo vista as estradas paraguaias são tão ruins como as brasileiras, parece ser o excesso de peso dos caminhões e carretas que faz esse estrago, (ou arte).
Parabéns pela bela fotografia e Abraço!
