Unique snow? What should that mean?
Yes, I know I mentioned climate change over and over again and most of you can't hear it anymore but this time I will talk about it again. So if you are fed up with this debate you better stop reading:
What is unique about this snow? Volcano Cayambe is situated really close to the equator. It's summit lies 4km in the north of it - which makes it by the way one of the highest mountains seen from the center of the earth with only 5790m. The southern slope of the volcano was is covered by a glacier which used to reach to the equator and was - until 2006 - the only year-round white spot on the entire earth. And here comes the climate change again... Its no longer white!
Talk about global warming. These little things should be alarming for all of us!
Picture taken from about 4200m... hope you like it!
