Photographer's Note

Cocuy is definitely Colombia or I would say South America’s best kept secret. It’s untouched, remote and so pristine. Really took me by surprise, with almost no information, for such an amazing national park in Colombia. The landscape, the glacial lake, crystal clear water and I found the endemic flora in Cocuy are so beautiful.

It's not easy to get there, need effort to go thru that night bus on the gravel road, searching for local guide as there's hardly any people in Cocuy. But worth the hassle.
It's 6 days trekking and I didn't see anyone for 5 days, only the last campsite I bumped into two locals.

Colombia has become my favorite destination, a place to go, a place to travel. Definitely a place to be!!

How to get to Cocuy:
Bus from Tunja-Cocuy ( 8 hours to go there, and 10 hours back )There’s bus at 7PM. 9.30PM and 11PM, with Fundadores 35.000 pesos from Tunja (January 2011)
Bogota – Tunja ( 4 hours )
Villa de Leyva – Tunja( 45 minutes )
