Another shot showing the imense smog around Santiago on an August day. Temperatures were really nice on that day and one could already see what spring must be about in Santiago.
Taken from Cerro Santa Lucia. I think in my first picture I wrote Cerro Santa Lucia as well. That was a mistake. This one here was taken from Cerro Santa Lucia. The other one from Cerro San Cristobal.

Great panorama of a sunlit city merging with the mountains, it's a pity the right part is way overexposed. Still an impressive view.

The smog's actually not that bad here, or they've improved it since I lived there. Most days, you wouldn't be able to see the mountains really at all. I remember a few times heading to Farellones in the Andes early in the morning, seeing the clear mountain air as we drove up--only to see the city smog encroaching in the canyons as you drove back in the afternoon. Yuck!
This is a nice shot of beautiful (though dirty) Santiago. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. :)
