Photographer's Note

This is a toucan of green beak (Ramphastos dicolorus), wild in Atlantic Forest, in special in southern Brazil and regions near seashore of South-eastern Brazil.
During a morning I heard a curious sound of birds in a wild tree located in the other side of my block, it was a couple of toucans and I took some images a distance. Few hours after, when I was coming back home for the lunch I saw the animal from my window, it was alone in one of my palm trees and was checking if there was fruits to be eat, no one of course, as you can see too. It stay there for some minutes and I took many photos.
In these last years we are receiving lots of wild animals that were extinct in my region when I was born, others are wild in regions of open fields and are coming here because most of my region is an open field now. Nowadays there are few people living in rural zone and the hunting is prohibited by law, at same time the preservation of forests in the region is helping these wild animals to survive here after many decades of abandon. Few weeks ago I saw a black toucan in a rural road, something I never had seen in my town, but I wasn't able to take a photo.

First time I saw a bird like this I was in the peak of a high mountain, in the middle of a forest, 100 km at south of my home, there is a far image of it in my gallery.

Cheguei a tirar algumas fotos.
