Photographer's Note

Guaratiba is a large neighborhood located in Rio de Janeiro. It has one of the city's smallest population densities.

Due to its territorial size is divided in sub-regions or sub-neighborhoods:

Barra de Guaratiba is located at the lowland situated in the south of Serra da Grota Funda, including mangroves and an access point to Restinga de Marambaia.
Pedra de Guaratiba is situated along the neighborhood's coastal region, with access to Sepetiba Bay, where the fishery activity is strong.
Ilha de Guaratiba is essentially a rural area, including the southeastern face of Maciço da Pedra Branca.

In the photo I was at Barra de Guaratiba in the area of restinga of Marambaia, a preserved area inside the Evaluation Center of national Army (CAEX).
