Photographer's Note
That shot was taken in the same day than the previous (Guanabara bay) around 7pm. Something wonderfull about digital cams, is that you may take several shots, check them up, delete those you don't like, and start again. This one might have been the 5th or 6th attempt. Spot on!
I thank you all for the comments and support. Great motivation to me.

Beautiful..
I remember me, being ther 12 years ago. During the day, to many tourists, no digital camera..
This pictures shows the Corcovado as how it is: Impressive !

The way you caught the light of the setting sun adds a mystical quality to the statue. This is a fine piece of photography! Normally, I don't like symmetrical compositions, but this is an exception, symmetry works well here ... and the addition of the tree to the right I guess makes it a little bit more asymmetrical and that's why it is very nice to the eyes.

How did you do this??!! The redeemer is 30 m high and it looks as though you're right across from his waist. From a window with telephoto? In any case, great colors and composition. Better than most postcards!

The colors are magnificient at the bottom with the blue glow. Very clear shot. The darkness at the top almost makes it look like he's heading up to heaven, for those that believe. I have not been to Brazil, but I am curious as to how you got this shot. What I have seen of this landmark is that the sculpture is situation high on a peak about 30 meters in the sky. Is there a place to stand out there to have had the ability to get this shot? Remarkable.
