Photographer's Note
The region's name is "Faxina", and it is right in the Sierra of São Luiz do Purunã. Its geography is very bumpy, and the virgin forests can´t be touched today. So, there are just a few spaces available for the pastures, and so to the livestock.
This little pasture is right inside the forest and upside the mountain and I shoot it using a 3X zoom, spot measuring the lights on the pasture to get better contrasts.
Located 40km from Paraná's State Capital, Curitiba, the region is famous for the rustic tourism. People have been visiting São Luiz do Purunã to ride horses and to explore the region of Faxina. Tourists can also find a few options of farm hotels to stay.

Hi Jose, Spot metering the clearing worked well here, preventing the darkness of the surrounding area from making the camera over expose the clearing. The viewer gets a sense of a patch of light/openness in a really dark forest. Cheers, Steve
