Photographer's Note
In this pandemic many events had to fit to the sanitary rules. Here in my town we have a usage of celebrate the arrival of a baby with a party named "Baby's Tea" where the friends of the family give gifts to the baby who will born soon.
In these last months, to prevent meetings, the people organized the same event with cars, where the family friends have a meeting in the middle of street, passing in front of the home of the future baby and delivering the gifts and receiving the meals the mother prepared to celebrate the event.
Here we can see they were celebrating the arrival of a baby, a boy. Curiously there was a terrible war in Brazil about the use of pink and blue as symbol of genders, as everything here this was used as political aspects with the government saying "family tradition" should be preserved and the opponents saying all the colors of the rainbow should be used.
In rich countries many people try to use a modern "no gender culture" for their babies, giving cars to the girls and dolls to the boys, or letting the baby to decide what is your real sexual option, the clothes he-her want to use..
Of course in a small town of Brazil the burden of the gender is very important yet, the parents want a boy who will be a hetero man and a girl who will be a hetero woman in the future and so on, despite que social evolution in this question. In my opinion any excess is an error.

Hello Jorge,
This is a tough one but I see no problem with people passing on a message about the gender of the baby by using colours. It does not mean that this is the only colour that the child will be given throughout its life, it's just a message and a safe message in these times of Covid!
It's a very simple composition but it works extremely well, using a well judged composition.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Jorge,
Ha ha
I don't think the newly born will be sensitive to the colors of balloons.
I am a scientist specializing in natural sciences so I pay slightly more attention to what nature has visibly put in front of our eyes than to how anybody may feel about it. On the other hand at one of the British universities there was a petition to fire a professor because she said exactly what I said above as being transgendrophobic.
I do believe everybody should be respected and everybody may feel whatever he or she likes but the nature is the nature, black is black and white is white so why should we go into discussion whether old children song "ba ba black sheep" offends somebody's feelings.
Some of the modern trends are going too far. Following this trend you cannot say anything really because everything may potentially offend someone.
I am not entirely sure whether I want my daughter to learn in the primary school that she can choose to be a boy someday. This feels like unnecessary complication for majority to make 1 in 1000 feel better.

Hello Jorge,
A nice photo of this little festive piece of daily life announcing the birth of a child. The blue balloons stands out well from the white car and dark windows.

Hi Jorge
It is interesting how COVID has changed many things, even customs. A very visible way to make the announcement. Well captured.
