Photographer's Note

I woke up on Friday, took my shower and went outside to take some images in the streets. Suddenly, a woman approached me and asked me whether she should go to the stadium because she had listened to the radio and they were warning people not to go there. I responded that, as far as I knew, the mission was ok and the docs would be in the field at around 8 am.
Later, during breakfast, I commented what I´d heard with some people of the team, and they confirmed: the evening before (Thursday), the Colonel received a call from Brasilia and they should dismount the hospital in Oiapoque and have it mounted in Recife, fully operating, on Saturday morning.

Abruptly, all of them, with a feeling of mission not accomplished, frustrated, were driven to the field to dismount
the tents. Few hours later I was put in the first aircraft (a Bandeirante) with 8 more physicians, for a two hour flight to Belém.

Here a glimpse of the engneneer looking to the sunset over the amazonic forest.

Other images from Oiapoque will be uploaded but the mission of showing you those days ends here. Life goes on ;)

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Sunday!
