Photographer's Note
Here we can see the lower part of Goiás city.In the left corner you can see two houses I will show you soon. Few meters ahead you can see a monument with as cross, it is the most famous monument of the city, in front of it you can see people crossing the bridge of the Red River, where the gold was found in the 18th century. At side of the bridge you can see the house of the most famous poet in central Brazil. In the upper part you can see a neo-gothic church built by French priests who demolished a colonial church to do this. Can you see Jesus putting the crown in the head of his mother ?
At side of church you can see a palace with a statue in the top, it is Justice Palace. All these places you will see in the next photos.
The city is surrounded by these mountains, covered with the typical vegetation of Central Brazil, named CERRADO, a specie of savana, much more menaced than Amazon forest.

Vemos aqui a parte mais baixa da cidade de Goiás. No canto inferior esquerdo estão duas casas que logo irei mostrar. Poucos metros abaixo está um monumento com uma cruz, o mais famoso da cidade, logo ali temos pessoas cruzando a ponte sobre o rio Vermelho, onde encontraram o ouro no século 17. Mesmo ao lado da ponte temos a casa da mais famosa poeta do centro do Brasil. Ao fundo se ergue a igreja neogótica feita por padres franceses que demoliram uma igreja colonial. Ao lado está o Palácio da Justiça com uma estátua em cima. Todos esses locais eu vou mostrar nas próximas postagens.
A cidade é rodeada por essas montanhas cobertas pelo cerrado, que é típico da maior parte do centro do Brasil e é um dos biomas mais ameaçados do país.

Hello Jorge,
This is your nicest and most interesting photo so far from this journey. It's taken from a good angle and gives us a fine view of the street with its attractive small buildings below the large church. The steep hill provides a nice background. The note point out several details I probably would not have noticed without assistance.

Hello Jorge,
I thought it was strange to see a church in this architectural style together with the houses in Portuguese colonial style.
But your note explains it.
The houses look very beautiful.
The green forested hill provides a nice backdrop.
Remarkable name for the savanna there. The word 'cerrado' has a different meaning in Spanish than in Portuguese.

This looks to be an attractive town and relatively safe to wander around, at least compared to Rio and Sao Paulo. Good sharpness and the steeple and clocktower add a strong focal point. Tfs!
