Photographer's Note
Tiwanaku, or Tiahuanaco, is the main archaeological site in Bolivia, and La Puerta del Sol (Gate of the Sun) its main structure. Built about 1500 years ago from a single piece of stone, this gateway weighs 10 tonnes and its original location on the site is unknown.

hi Pedro
Very interesting structure, I love the carvings above the doorway. it looks so strange to find just a wall standing like this in the open desert, a great idea of the places past.Perfect lighting and a really nice presentation against that glorious blue sky.
cheers

Hi Pedro,
I like how the narrow shadows make the shape of this gate more clear. I can only imagine how much archeological work there is to study cultures from times before Europeans arrived there. Wonderful site, that I haven't heard of before, far away from usual tourist paths.

Howdy Pedro,
Impressive ancient gate for the sun god relief surrounded by multiple carvings, and its huge size.
Would be enjoyable to visit this archeological site, especially due to the historical antiquities.
Thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
Ray
