Photographer's Note

After seeing the mighty impressive Glaciar Perito Moreno we've opted for a full day boat tour to the even wider tongue (5-7km) of Glaciar Upsala and even higher front (80-135m) of Glaciar Spegazzini, with a short detour to Bahia Onelli, an iceberg filled lake surrounded by ancient woods.

The good news is, that the glaciers are really impressive and there were plenty of wonderfully sculpted blue icebergs on the way. The bad news is that you will experience some claustrophobic moments. Sharing a boat with 200+ people was quite a shock after traveling 3500 lonely patagonian kilometers by our own.

Luckily it was not as bad as it looks on this image. The cold wind and occasional rain-drop drove the crowd back into the warmth inside (great hot chocolate at the bar), and after the third iceberg or so I had free aim. Some proper iceberg photos may follow..
