Photographer's Note
Here's is another shot of New Zealand's Milford Sound, which is the backside of Milford Fiord. This is a wonderful fiord where you can actually drive a car to this far side of it.
My wife and I drove a "hippie van", through trhe town of Te Anau along State Highway 94. This spectacular road winds through some of the most stunning scenery in New Zealand and then passes though the Homer Tunnel before dropping down to sea level at Milford Sound.
If you come here, be sure to leave the parking lot and venture out across the low-tidal area to the water's edge. In this shot, I didn't go to the edge, but stopped when I found a nice small pool to capture a small reflection. In the TrekEarth forum I have a shot taken right at the water's edge.
This is an HDR 3-image composite, compiled with Apple's Aperture and Photomatix's HDR plugin. This versions is a tad bit too overworked. For those who want to see the originals, please visit this discussion:

Hello Peter,
Even if I'm not convinced by the HDR treatment (the picture does not look very natural, in my opinion), I like the composition of this photography. The reflection of the mountain is very nice.

Hi Peter,
Wonderful landscape photo, I like the reflection of the mountain in the pool.
Slighty too much of 3HDR effect" for me. I am also experimenting with HDR these days, but I try to keep them as "natural" as possible.
Well done.

Hello Peter! Thanks for showing us the fabled beauty of New Zealand. Lovely composition! Great sky. I myself, would have loved to see the natural look of the place withou any editing. But that's just me. Greetings.

Hello Peter,
I am not an avid fan of HDR, but there, the result is very pleasing: I like the colors and atmosphere made.
Good work

Peter, I love the feeling of depth in this shot, from the plants at foreground to the pools of water stretching into the background, the treeline, and finally the layered mountains. Great shadows in BG add to the effect, and you chose the perfect POV to catch the mountaintop's reflection in the nearest pool. Amazingly crisp refelction, too. While I agree the HDR might be a bit much, the final product certainly has a great deal of drama.

hello Peter
A POV well choiced to get the snowy mountains reflections in the puddle. The light and shadows due to the clouds give volume to the shot.
Spend a good sunday

Magnifique!
