Photographer's Note

Hi all. This is another shot taken on our northland tour. Though this is nowhere near Northland we passed by here on our way north and couldn’t resist a brief detour to photograph the mountains, especially as conditions were perfect!
The high peak on the left is Mount Ngauruhoe and the flat top mountain in the center is Mount Tongariro. In the FG is the tundra of the Rangipo dessert.
Enjoy, Paul.

Note; I just realised this ties in well with Zeca’s latest post (the great white island). There is a string of volcanoes and geothermal active areas between this shot and his. The biggest is the now extinct (we hope) Lake Taupo, a crater 40Kms by 25Kms now flooded.
