Photographer's Note

This is the stromatalites at Sharks Bay, they are considered a living fossil. They are belived to have been the original source of oxygen in the earths atmosphere and hence one of the most important steps in evolution. This is 1 on of only a handful of places where living stromatalites are found, there are lots in the fossil record but very few breathing examples.
