Photographer's Note
...and that means you.
I you're reading this, then you have a case to answer. It is because of this site that I am about to spend my hard earned dineros on a new DSLR.
I discovered this site quite a while ago, but only recently posted photos, and due to the comments I received and ideas I got from all the amazing shots, I am desperate to take better photos.
And like all good tradesman, I choose to blame my tools.
This shot is a prime example - I think it's got reasonable composition, but it lacks clarity and that overexposed bit on the left is from a finger smudge - which would definately not happen with a new camera! I just know!! Because it just wouldn't.
Yeah, yeah, to all those people on this site who take incredible shots with cameras made from chewing gum wrappers, bits of bark and a dab of spit...well, good.
But I still am going to buy a new camera.
As for this place, it is the end of Breakfast Creek, just as it joins the Brisbane River. To the right, out of frame is the Breakfast Creek Hotel, sort of my local, known as 'The Brekky Creek', which has some pretty good steak. And to the left is the Breakfast Creek Wharf which contains a great seafood place.
I took the shot with my little Canon with a teeny tiny tripod attached, balanced on the bridge railing - which promptly fell off after the shot was taken.
No harm done.
But I'll need a new camera.
Cheers

Hi Adam,
I think I will give you the points for your sense of humour. The photo could be sharpened after it was resized. I did a workshop, hope you don't mind.
Cheers,
Debbie

Hi Adam, bugger the photo the note is worth ten points lol, I still blame my camera even after an upgrade Why? because how else can you justifi (aw cach I cant spell that word) the next upgrade, there is no limit just the money, finger print on the lens! just tell them all it a new smudge filter your trying out, but that your not to sure that its any good, wrong setting (fiddlig with camera whilst drunk and forgot to sort it out in the morning) that comes under trying out new exposure. Rain drops on the lens because forgot to look, blame that on the dog that just shook himself dry at your feet just as you took the photo. wrong film speed, thats a thunder strorm comming, you will pick the rest up as you go along.
And Your photo is not that bad anyway.
Kindest regards
Donald

I think you are right about the clarity... And the contrast could be better... But I like the lines, the colors, and the way that it is composed. Looking at your photos it seems that many of them seem to be composed with lines gravitating to the right- I like the consistency in that and how they are all places you know with good commentary. Good work!

Nice composition of an attractive night scene. But you're right, you need a new camera. The quality of the image would have been greatly improved, just by having more pixels in a same rectangle.
Well done Adam!
Thành.
